| Biography |
Alice Byrne Kelly is a singer, songwriter, author
and Performer.
She has worked in the entertainment industry since she was 15 years old both as
a singer and actor, appearing in commercials and a movie.
Alice performed with rock, pop and blues bands on the Dublin circuit throughout the 1980’s and recorded a full CD of traditional Irish songs written by singer/songwriter John Walsh. While in America,
she has worked with the bands Solstar and Status as lead and backing vocalist, percussionist and rhythm guitarist.
Alice has written children’s books based on her childhood growing up in Dublin, Ireland.
She expects the book "A Trip Up the Dublin Mountains" to be published this year.
Currently, Alice is working on her memoir, a book filled with humour, hard
tests, strong wills and the tough Irish spirit she inherited.
She has been interviewed on radio and television with the bands Teeze, Morning Star and Solstar
and has participated in numerous “Battles of the Band” and talent competitions
over the years.
Alice worked with the carpenters union, local 7, as an apprentice and attended trade school where she learned many building skills in a male dominated profession.
In her book "Limbo" she talks about the trials of working in an environment such
as this and how she survived!
From 2008 – 2009 Alice attended Five Towns College on Long Island where she studied music performance with an emphasis on vocal and percussion skills. During that time she raised the roof at the Dix Hills Performing Arts Centre
performing with the Jazz Ensemble and a Women’s Barbershop group.
